Snip the edges off of the yellow beans using kitchen scissors or a knife.
Heat the butter and oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat.
Add the yellow beans and cook until tender when poked with a fork. This will take about 3-5 minutes. Stir occasionnally during the process.
Sprinkle the salt and pepper overtop in the last minute of cooking and stir together.
Once beans are done, scoop onto a serving dish. Add all the crispy bits on the bottom of the pan (those are the best part). Serve and enjoy!
Recipe Notes:
Prep all the ingredients before starting the recipe. Trim the ends of the yellow beans, mince the garlic, and measure out butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. This recipe happens fast and it’s easier to have ingredients ready to go while you’re at the stove.
Use a cast iron skillet if you have one. This will produce lovely crispy edges of the beans.
Heat the frying pan over medium-high heat before adding the oil and butter. The pan should be hot before starting the recipe.
Once the pan is hot, add butter and oil. As soon as it melts, add the garlic and yellow beans.
Beans only take 2-3 minutes to cook. Poke them with a fork. They will be soft when they’re ready.
Don’t forget to scrape the bottom of the pan to get all those crispy bits. Most of this is cooked garlic and leftover butter and oil. Drizzle this overtop of the cooked yellow beans before serving. It adds a wonderful flavor!
