Garlic green beans with bacon is easy, simple and loaded with flavor. Bacon is cooked in a skillet, then green beans and garlic are sautéed in a small amount of the bacon grease. Everything is tossed together at the last minute for an easy side dish.
In a frying pan over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Drain excess grease from the pan, leaving about 2 tablespoon of grease for cooking the beans.
Chop the bacon into small pieces using kitchen scissors or a knife. Set aside.
Wash and drain green beans. Slice off the ends.
Add green beans and minced garlic to the skillet along with 1-2 tablespoon of bacon grease. Season with salt and pepper. Cover the frying pan and cook over medium heat until beans are soft when poked with a fork, about 10-12 minutes. Tip: don't have a lid that will fit? Try using a baking sheet or aluminum foil to cover the frying pan.
Add the chopped bacon and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and season with more salt and pepper. Serve and enjoy!
