Recipe Overview

Yum! These air fryer sweet potato fries are such a great and easy side dish for pretty much any meal. Whether we’re having them with burgers, tacos, or just snacking on them by themselves, they always hit the spot.

Air frying is honestly such a game changer for making healthy veggies with a little crispy perfection (be sure to check out my 6 Air Fryer Side Veggies post for more easy ideas).

Making these sweet potato fries is a breeze. First, peel and chop the sweet potatoes into sticks. Then toss them with olive oil and a few spices. Pop them in the air fryer for about 25-30 minutes, or until they’re crispy to your liking (I like mine a little extra crispy).

And of course, I’ve got a super yummy dipping sauce recipe for you below. It’s the perfect companion to dunk those crispy fries into.

STEP 5: Cook for 25-30 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure they cook evenly and get crispy on all sides. Once the fries are golden and crispy, remove them from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving plate. Sprinkle with a little more salt if you like.

Two images of a bowl, first with mayo, ketchup and spices inside. Second with creamy special sauce all mixed together and a small spatula.

STEP 6: While the fries are cooking, make the dipping sauce by mixing 1 cup of mayonnaise, ½ cup of ketchup, 1 Tbsp of vinegar, 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tsp of paprika in a small bowl. Stir until creamy. Serve the sweet potato fries with the dipping sauce on the side, and enjoy!

Recipe Tips

  • Cut your fries into even sticks. Thinner fries will crisp up a little more, so if you’re all about that, go a bit thinner!
  • Don’t overload the air fryer basket. If it’s too crowded, the fries won’t get crispy enough. It’s better to cook in two batches if you have a lot of fries.
  • Remember to shake the basket halfway through so the fries cook evenly.
  • Keep an eye on the fries during the last 5 minutes or so to make sure they don’t burn. Every air fryer cooks a little differently, so it’s always good to check toward the end!
  • Lastly, don’t forget to sprinkle a little extra salt on the fries right before serving for better flavor.

How To Store Leftovers

  • REFRIGERATE – Let the fries cool completely before storing them. Place them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.
  • TO REHEAT – To get them crispy again, avoid using the microwave! Instead, add them back in the air fryer at 375°F for about 5 minutes or until they’re heated through.
