Air fryer green beans are one of the easiest ways to cook your green beans. They’re perfect as a simple side dish on busy weeknights and you can easily flavor them.
Today I’m keeping things simple with salt and pepper and freshly grated parmesan cheese. Green beans are one of my daughter’s favorites so we make them often. Learn just how easy it is to make this vegetable in your air fryer below.

Air Fryer Green Beans
These are so simple and easy to make, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do this sooner! Normally, I tend to boil our green beans for a fast side dish. But this can get a little boring after awhile. It’s nice to switch things up with the air fryer!
You can pair these green beans with almost any dinner like honey garlic salmon or dijon thyme baked chicken.
You can also air fry your entire meal with recipes like air fryer salmon and air fryer pork chops.
My Favorite Air Fryer
I’m a big fan of air fryers! I have the Ninja Foodi Deluxe – it’s an all-in-one that allows me to use it as an air fryer, instant pot, sear, slow cook, steam, and bake food. The options are truly endless with this tool and I feel like I’m just getting started with it.
If you haven’t purchased an air fryer yet, I highly recommend the Ninja Foodi Deluxe. I love that it replaces multiple tools and saves space in my kitchen.

Air Fryer Green Beans Ingredients
GREEN BEANS – When you’re at the grocery store, look for green breans that appear fresh without any dark spots on the outside. The beans should look strong and not soft and wilted.
COCONUT OIL – I used coconut oil for this recipe, but you could also use avocado oil or any cooking oil you have already at home.
SPICES – I’m using simple spices to give the green beans flavor: garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
PARMESAN CHEESE – I love to sprinkle freshly grated parmesan cheese on my roasted veggies because it adds so much flavor. This part is optional but worth it.

How To Make Air Fryer Green Beans
Air fryer green beans are so easy to make. Everything including prep time and cook time is all done in about 20 minutes.
- Wash the green beans and trim off the ends using kitchen scissors.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cooking oil, garlic powder, onion powder, grated parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Add in the green beans and toss them together with seasonings.
- Preheat the air fryer for two minutes at 350°F. Add in the green beans and cook for 6 minutes, then toss and flip them. Cook for another 6-10 minutes, keeping an eye on them in the last couple of minutes so that they don’t burn. Remove from air fryer and serve.
Tips For Perfect Air Fryer Green Beans
- Preheat your air fryer first. This helps to get optimal results.
- Pat the green beans dry with a dishtowel after washing to remove any excess moisture.
- Always toss the green beans halfway through cooking to get even cooking.
- Check them in the last couple of minutes to make sure they’re not overcooking. Every air fryer is different so it might take more time or less time to cook your green beans. It can take a little bit of practice getting used to your specific air fryer’s temperature and how it works.
