Recipe Tips
- Russet potatoes will work best for this recipe. If you want to use another style of potato then try my other easy air fryer potatoes recipe.
- Prick the potatoes all over with a fork before you cook them. This helps to release steam as they bake. It is an important step not to be missed!
- Preheat the air fryer first. This will give you the best crispy potatoes.
- Always flip halfway through cooking to get a crispy coating. Be sure to use tongs as the potatoes will be very hot!
- Check in the last couple of minutes to make sure they’re not overcooking. Every air fryer is different so it might take a little bit of practice getting used to your temperature and how it works.
How To Store Leftovers
- Refrigerate – Once the potatoes have cooled down, they can be wrapped tightly and stored in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. These also freeze well! I like to wrap baked potatoes in foil and place them all in a freezer bag for up to 4 months.
- To Reheat – Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 2 minutes. Now Add the potatoes back in and cook until warmed through. It will take about 8-10 minutes or so. Flip the potato halfway through using a pair of tongs.

- Vortex Plus 6 Qt Air Fryer – This is the air fryer that I used in the photos! It has a large basket to cook more ingredients in a single layer. It also automatically preheats and lets you know when to add your food. I like this one because I can usually cook all my food at once because of the large basket.
- Tongs – I have multiple pairs of tongs in my kitchen because I’m constantly using them for a variety of things as I’m cooking.
