Full ingredients and instructions are also in the recipe card at the bottom of this blog post.
OPTIONAL STEP: Let the frozen pie crust thaw at room temperature for 20 minutes. Transfer to a greased quiche pan. Use fingers to gently press and shape it into place. Or you can bake in the aluminum foil plate the pie crust came in.
PREP: Cook 8 slices of bacon in advance in a frying pan. Wrap in paper towel to absorb grease, and squeeze to crumble into bite-size pieces.
STEP 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, beat together 6 large eggs with ½ tsp nutmeg, ½ tsp salt, and ¼ tsp ground black pepper. You can use an electric hand mixer or beat by hand.
STEP 2: Add 1 cup of milk, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, and 8 bacon slices that are cooked and crumbled. Mix together.
STEP 3: Pour into the pie crust dish and gently spread the bacon and cheese around evenly.
STEP 4: Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean when poked through the center. Let cool for 10 minutes, then slice and use a silicone spatula or pie server to transfer to plates.
Recipe Tips
- Add the quiche dish onto a baking sheet then add it directly to the oven. It helps to avoid spills while carrying the quiche and during the baking process.
How To Store Leftovers
- Refrigerate – Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4.
- Reheat – This can be reheated in the oven at 350°F for about 10-15 minutes, or until it’s heated through.
