Garlic green beans with bacon is easy, simple and loaded with flavor. Bacon is cooked in a skillet, then green beans and garlic are sautéed in a small amount of the bacon grease. Everything is tossed together at the last minute for an easy side dish.
Garlic Green Beans with Bacon
This is a simple side dish recipe that can be paired with anything really. We had this for dinner along with stuffed acorn squash. This would taste great with chicken, fish, pork or beef.
We love green beans in our house, I make air fryer green beans often, or simply boil them and drizzle freshly squeezed lemon on top.
But I’m going to be adding this recipe to our regular rotation. Adding a bit of bacon to a vegetable is *chef’s kiss*! It’s a simple idea that gives very flavorful results. My husband gobbled these right up! Daughter did too.
This is also the perfect Fall recipe to serve at your Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday celebrations. If you can, grab a bag of green beans straight from the Farmer’s Market – they’re always greener, crisper and have more flavor.

Garlic Green Beans with Bacon Instructions
This side dish is cooked in two main steps:
- Cook Bacon – Add the bacon to a frying pan and cook until crispy. Pat the excess grease from the bacon, then slice in to bite-sized pieces. Set those aside.
- Sautee Green Beans – Leave 1-2 Tbsp of bacon grease in the bottom of the pan and discard the rest. Add the beans and minced garlic. Cover with a lid and cook until the beans soften, about 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally.
