- We love saving time with store-bought refrigerated pizza crust. It’s very versatile and can be also used to create twisted pizza breadsticks and homemade pizza pockets.
Recipe Ingredients
CRUST: A refrigerated tube crust is used as the base of this pizza. It’s fast and easy. If you prefer you can make your own crust from scratch.
SAUCE: Grab a can of pizza sauce (or marinara) and sprinkle some dried oregano, dried basil and garlic powder on top for an easy but flavorful pizza sauce.
TOPPINGS: Cooked bacon and sausage are combined with hashbrowns, tomatoes and eggs. The result is a lot of wonderful textures and flavors.
CHEESE: A bit of parmesan cheese is mixed into the eggs, and mozzarella cheese is sprinkled on top.
Pizza Variations
Homemade pizzas are a great place to add additional toppings and variations. You can try any of the following:
- Anything that would taste great as toppings including bell peppers, mushrooms, and fresh basil.
- Replace the pizza sauce with ketchup or marinara sauce.
- Add canned pineapple for a hint of sweetness.
- Use a different style of cheese including cheddar or marble, parmesan, or Monterey jack.
How To Make Breakfast Pizza
- Cook sausage and bacon in a pan. Blot with a towel to remove excess grease.
- Roll out pizza crust onto a baking sheet. Spread the sauce and sprinkle the dried herbs according to the recipe below.
- Add the toppings: bacon, sausage, tomatoes, and hashbrowns.
- Beat eggs, milk, and parmesan in a bowl. Drizzle gently over top of the pizza. Sprinkle mozzarella on top.
- Bake for 20 minutes, and broil for a few extra minutes if you want a crispier pizza.
Storing Leftovers
Any leftover slices can be stored in the fridge and reheated in the oven for up to 10 minutes, or until heated through. Pizza can also be microwaved for 1-2 minutes, wrapped in a paper towel.
Recipe Tips
- Use a pizza cutter to shape the pizza crust after rolling it out. Place scrap pieces over any holes that might form (see my photos in the recipe card for example).
- When adding toppings, leave a small edge blank on the sides for crust.
- Use precooked bacon to help save time. Or you can cook both the bacon and sausage meat at the same time in a frying pan. Just blot with a towel to remove excess grease.
- Pour the eggs gently in the center of the pizza, and not over the edges. It will run towards the edges naturally this way. It’s okay if eggs run over the edges a bit.
- Add fresh topping extras after the pizza is baked including a sprinkling of dried oregano, parmesan cheese and fresh basil. These are all optional.
- If broiling, be sure to keep an eye on the pizza as ingredients can burn quickly while broiling. You only need a couple of minutes to make things crispier.
- For anyone that likes pizza soft and fluffy (like I do) you can skip the broiling step.
Yes. There are frozen round pizza crusts available. Or you can make your own from scratch. These may require slightly different cooking times depending on what you’re using.
The trick is to pour the egg in the center of the pizza slowly, avoiding the edges as much as possible. The egg mixture will naturally run to the edges which is okay. You can create rolled edges with the pizza crust to act as a barrier to hold it in. Also, be careful when placing the baking sheet in the oven, go slowly so that the egg doesn’t move around.
Some brands offer sausage meat without the casing. I’m able to find it in a variety of flavors (salt and pepper, mild italian etc). Look beside the other sausages in the meat section. It will look similar to a package of ground beef. If you don’t have it locally, you can use regular sausages by cutting off the casing and cooking what’s inside. 1 cup of ground sausage meat will equal 1-2 sausages depending on size.

- 2 cups grated mozzarella
Instructions

- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk and parmesan cheese.
- Gently drizzle the egg mixture over top of the pizza. Sprinkle on the mozzarella cheese.
- Gently place in oven (so that egg mixture doesn't move around too much) and bake for 20 minutes. If you desire a crispier pizza, you can broil it for 1-3 minutes after. Remove from oven and slice into desired slices using a pizza cutter or a knife. Serve and enjoy!
